Here at The Dance Shed we offer various levels of Lyrical classes, from the British Theatre Dance Association, which are suitable for beginner through too advanced.

British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA)

A popular dance form that makes extensive use of contemporary music. This discipline places an emphasis on the mastery of self-expression, gracefulness and the use of movement to convey a sense of romance and style, in response to rhythm and lyrics. As a form it requires dancers to understand and interpret both lyrics and melody with increasing emotional maturity, physical flexibility and co-ordination.

 

Lower Graded Examinations are the first step of the exam structure and introduce candidates to the examination process. The General Graded Examinations are validated by GQAL and based on BTDA programmes. These qualifications are regulated by the Regulatory Authorities.
